The lake is huge, and the Mojave Road goes right across the middle.

It also has a very strange texture. Lucky for us, it wasn't very muddy today.

The tradition on the Mojave Road is to carry a large rock across the lake and add it to the pile. There is a plaque in the center, but only those who cross the Mojave know what it says.

We took a side trip up this wash near Shaw Pass. Since we were now out of the National Preserve, we could shoot guns.
